Finances First: You need to fix your budget and then decide how much you will be able to spend through private funding, and how much you need to borrows as bank loan

Subject Wise: Choose a course that genuinely interests you and a country that suits your budget. This will help you reach the next step of zeroing on a particular university.

Homework: Do a complete homework on the university, its location, scholarships, fees, accommodation, food and library etc. Then try to get in touch with the alumni or students studying there so that you get first hand information on the quality of education and the environment of the university.

Building a rapport: Try to get in touch with the academicians so that a relationship is established even before you reach there

Part Time Income: If you are planning to do part time jobs to manage your finances, find out in advance the part time work norms for overseas students of the country and the university

Visa Norms: Each country has their specific guidelines set for your visit to their place, regarding education as well as for any part time job offer. Also, always apply for Visa well in advance because this can be a cause of concern if it takes longer than usual.
