How To Maintain Your Linen Fabric

Keep them clean: Never store used or dirty linen without washing them. It’s always better to launder the bed and table linen than to dry clean them. Laundry will preserve its color and is a more hygienic option.

Careful cleaning: Do not use chlorine bleach while cleaning your linen because it reduces the fabric’s lifespan and may turn them yellow/brown. Instead ask your professional dry cleaner for non-chlorine whiteners, ideally with optical whitening.

Starchy truth: If you like your table linen starched, send it to your dry cleaner for starching just before you set it out. Storing starched linen will discolor the fabric.

Keep it ventilated: always keep linen in well-ventilated cupboards. For an even better effect use professional moisture absorbers to prevent mildew. These are available at your local dry cleaner’s. It also adds to your linen’s lifespan.

Paste on: Folded linen should be kept away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration of the fabrics.
