Shatrughan to play NTR in Rakta Charitra

Actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha has been roped into play the role of former Andhra Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao (NTR) in the Hindi version of Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming bilingual Rakta Charitra. Telugu actor Mohan Babu will be seen as NTR in the Telugu version of the film. Actor Vivek Oberoi plays the title role of rebel-turned politician Paritala Ravi, one of the most-feared individuals in the blood-ridden faction politics of South India. The film will start shooting soon in Hyderabad.

Television came to India on September 15, 1959, when the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) gave the government of India $20,000 (Rs 9.7 lakh) and 180 Philips TV sets. The national broadcaster’s head office was a makeshift studio then, and they worked with just a small transmitter.
