style="text-align: justify;">Cash-On-Mobile, the new card less facility launched by IndusInd Bank enables to withdraw cash from an ATM without using ATM/debit card.

How To Get It?

One will have to register for the service at any IndusInd branch or ATM via the bank’s Internet banking. One can also call up the bank’s customer service center. Once registered, you will receive a 4-digit MPIN (mobile personal identification number), just like an ATM PIN. This MPIN will ensure security of the transaction and work as an authorization code.

In order to use this, you need to download the application on cellphone. There is also the option of using the SMS channel. The bank will send a weblink for the application.

What Do You Get?

The service is free-of-cost. You get the facilities you normally get at an ATM. You will be able to make intra-bank, mobile-to-mobile, mobile-to-account fund transfers and even Net Electronic Funds Transfer (NEFT). Interbank Mobile Payment Service (IMPS) is a part of this mobile application.

Cash Limit: One can withdraw up to Rs, 5,000 per day through cash-on-mobile. In case of fund transfers through IMPS, the limit Rs. 30,000 per day per transaction and Rs 4,000 using SMSs. All bill payments come with a limit of Rs 20,000 per day per transaction.

How To Use?

Go to the IndusMobile application downloaded. Use your MPIN and make a request to the bank for the cardless withdrawal facility, specifying the amount. The bank will send you a temporary password- generate another password through the application. At the ATM, choose the cash-on-mobile option on the screen. You will be asked to enter mobile number, the amount and the temporary password sent by the bank as well as the password you generated. Only when all four match, the ATM will disperse cash.

Things To Know About Watches

Featured

General Awareness

Technology

automatic watch

chronograph

chronometer

complication

different terms associated with watch

different types of watches

FAQs about watches

Horology

know how about watches

mechanical watch

mechanical watches

minute repeater

movement

quartz watches

tourbillion

tourbillion watch
<guid

When it comes to casual look the watch should also reflect your casual attitude and same goes for professional like. But there are few terms which are related with the Watches and are must to be known. Please check below a list of such terms:

HOROLOGY: Horology is the art or science of measuring time.

MOVEMENT: A movement is the internal mechanism of a clock or watch, as opposed to the case, which encloses and protects the movement, and the face which displays the time.

COMPLICATION: A complication refers to any feature beyond the simple display of hours, minutes, and seconds. A timepiece indicating only hours, minutes and seconds is known as a simple movement. Examples of complications: display of time zones, time of sunset or sunrise etc.

AUTOMATIC WATCH: An automatic or self-winding watch is a mechanical watch whose mainspring is wound automatically by the natural motion of the wearer’s arm, providing energy to run the watch, making it unnecessary to manually wind the watch. Most mechanical watches sold today are self-winding.

MECHANICAL WATCH: A mechanical watch uses a mechanical mechanism to measure the passage of time, as opposed to quartz watches which function electronically.

MINUTE REPEATER: A repeater is a complication in a mechanical watch that audibly chimes the hours and often minutes at the press of a button. Repeaters should not be confused with striking clocks or watches, which do not strike on demand, but merely at regular intervals. They originated before wide spread artificial illumination, to allow the time to be determined in the dark, and were also used by the visually impaired. Now they are mostly valued as expensive novelties.

TOURBILLON: A tourbillion is a small piece of equipment which is supposed to counteract the effects of the movement of the arm and gravity, since both these cause watches to grow inaccurate over time. Today, tourbillion movements don’t make much sense since most people wear wrist watches that don’t suffer from gravitation errors. Still, the tourbillion watch is sought after for its design and rarity.

CHRONOGRAPHY: Chronographs are watches that can measure time in different ways. For this, the dial has several sub dials with a scale, from which the measurements can be read. It gives its owner the ability to time anything he wants.

CHRONOMETER: A chronometer is a watch that has the highest standard of precision. The designation is given to automatic and mechanical movement watches, not those that run with quartz movement.

Wedding tool From GOOGLE

Technology

Tools

Google wedding tool

planning wedding online

wedding connect

The Role of Media in National Integration

It was said by pundits of history that North and South India were two separate entities and all those rulers who tried to conquer and command South India along with North India were doomed. They put forward the examples of Muhammed Bin Tuglaq and Aurangzeb to substantiate their argument.

While this thinking was negated by the examples of emperor Ashoka and the English, the point that emerged from the arguments of History pundits was that of geographical difficulty, in keeping North and south India united, given the state of development of communications in medieval times.

The growth of Communications and education under the British, in the 19th century, helped bringing the people of India together.

The struggle for independence generated a spirit of unity and nationalism amongst the people and a large contribution to this came from the media i.e. the newspapers. They exposed the true face of British imperialism and consequent unity among Indians to fight the English.

After independence the Indian media, developed rapidly, including the radio and now the television. Any occurrence in any corner of the country immediately spreads all over India through the media. The spreading of news is not just the conveyance of information; it acts as a catalyst in creating identification with nation, its people, its culture and the mainstream of its thought. Newspaper, radio, television and film reach all the people all over India. The same things are thus seen and read all over India ad this helps in the growth of similar mentality and thought this can broadly be termed as the growth of consciousness of belonging to one nation. This is the growth of nationalism.

Nationalism in itself contains the seed of unity and national integration. The same values of unity and national integration. The same values that get conveyed through media; or indirectly, help sustain nationalism and thus nationalism integration.

Computers – Unemployement ?

General Awareness

Technology

computer education

computer employement

Computer killing jobs

computer revolution

computerization

unemployement

The modern age is the age of computers. Computers provide a wide range of education and executive softwares. These are widely used in satellites, spacecrafts, aircrafts, airline offices, leading banks, processing of data, booking of seats, making reservations in large organizations, in military establishments and many other Corporations. With the introduction of computers, development in India seems to be gaining rapid momentum. As we march towards the 21st century, we must accept the inevitability of a computer revolution in the near future. It is an inseparable part of development, as demonstrated by other countries. This new development has affected different people in different ways. Some people are thrilled at the prospects of saving their precious time and labour and doing things at the speed of electricity. The others feel depressed because of inherent danger of serious unemployment problem in India, which computers may bring in. Some people feel happy and cheerful as the jobs in computers are considered sophisticated. According to them, computers offer not only the opportunity to work on feather touch machines in an air-conditioned office; they also offer a lot of creativity and the scope for innovation. But most of the people in our country are indifferent to the whole affair. As far as I am concerned, I feel thrilled at the computer revolution. The computerization has given sizeable benefits to us making our lives more “livable”, and will be a virtual necessity for our survival in the long run. Nevertheless, I am depressed for the following reasons at the magnitude of problems that are arising because of large scale computerization.

One perceived threat is that computers create unemployment. Unfortunately, there is not adequate data to prove or refute this point and any attempt to put it together would be extremely difficult. However, a study conducted by the Cambridge University indicated that in UK there was a positive impact of computers on unemployment for the first 14 years of computerization, and thereafter the reverse took place. Similar study in India also revealed positive effects on employment. The crux of the matter is that the choice of computer application alone would determine the impact on employment. If we maintain a discipline of not computerizing those man power intensive applications which can be efficiently carried out manually, and concentrate on computerizing only those applications that help in optimizing resource utilization, the impact would be positive for employment as well as the economy.

The over dependence on computers is bound to dampen the brain power of human beings by non-use, resulting in the decline of the average standard of intelligence because of idleness. The non-use of human brain will rust and gradually erode our thinking power. This will adversely affect the intelligence of our future generations in the third world countries. Consequently, the may again be enslaved.

In India, we cannot ignore the reality that 70 percent of the working population is agricultural and 30 percent of the population is living below the poverty line and demands top priority for basic needs as against computerization; 60 percent of the eligible population is unemployed, only 0.04 % of the population, ( working in corporate Offices) will be effected. The massive investment in this technology will deprive crores of Indians, living below poverty line, the basic necessities of life, which the Govt. could have provided them otherwise.

The Australian team behind the technology wireless LAN was recognized was their work, on the same date that the organization’s annual report reveals the magnitude of the invention’s worth.

Headed by electrical engineer Dr John O’Sullivan, the researchers were awarded the CSIRO chairman’s Medal at a ceremony in Melbourne.

Wireless LAN, also known as WiFi or IEEE 802.11, forms the backbone of wireless networks around the world, and is used in an estimated 800 million devices including computers, printers and mobile phones.

The CSIRO team based in Sydney were successful in speeding up wireless LAN, by overcoming a problem known as ‘multipathing’.

“You might imagine that the little box with the flashing lights that powers your home wireless network is simply beaming information straight to your laptop,” says O’Sullivan.

“In reality the radio waves travel in all directions, bouncing off walls, furniture and people – making it very hard to deliver a clear signal to the receiver.”

The solution involved a technique that had been developed for use in radio astronomy.

O’Sullivan created a chip that used fast Fourier transforms to assist him in searching for exploding black holes ‘hidden’ on hundreds of meters of film.

“I was inspired to think about ways of cleaning up smeared radio signals to make searching for short pulses like those from exploding black holes easier,” he says.

“We ended up building a ‘fast Fourier transform’ chip to these sorts of processing tasks efficiently and fast.”

Several years later, that same technology was used to resolve the multipathing problem.

“That proved to be they key to untangling the web of wireless signals so we could build a workable high speed wireless local area network (WLAN),” says O’Sullivan.

Exploring the realm of the laser

Health

Technology

facts on laser treatment

Faqs on laser treatment

Laser treatment

laser treatment Faqs

laser treatments in India

What does a laser clinic mean to a layman?
It is the latest technology in treating various things. It helps in treating birth-marks, wrinkles, pigmentation, stretch marks, weight loss etc. I must say it is the most advanced way of treatment.

Which are the most sought after laser treatments in India?
Permanent hair removal, skin rejuvenation and weight loss are the three most sought after treatments in India. And people from all walks of life and of all the ages are coming forward to take laser treatment. Basically, the craze is to look better and what better way than getting laser treatment. The popularity is more because laser treatment is the safer, faster, and effective way of treatment.

How informed are the people about laser treatments and its efficacy?
Not many people in India are informed about laser treatment especially in tier II cities and smaller towns. One more reason is that it is growing and there are very few centers in India. Places like Delhi and Mumbai have many centers but not the smaller towns. Even then in all there would be only 70-80 laser treatment centers in India.

What are the steps you think should be taken to popularize it?
The only way to popularize it is through media or word of mouth. However, word of mouth is difficult because many people who get these treatments for looking good hardly go out and tell that they got some treatment done. These people want to show that they look good naturally. So, the only solution left is to market heavily.

What will be your suggestions to people before they go for a particular laser clinic?
Before deciding to finally go for the treatment you must get detailed consultations with the doctors. Then find out about the suitability of treatment that they are giving you, also ask for a free test. Do not forget to ask for the number of sittings that will be required for the treatment.

Also get an idea about the hidden charges, precautions required during the treatment and about the post-operative care to be taken.

X-Rays Voted Top Scientific Invention

Technology

Scientific Inventions

Top 10 Scientific Inventions

When was it conceived?
Robert A.Heinlein in his 1942 short story ‘Waldo’, wrote about a mechanical genius, who used a technology by which he could move his hands and fingers to remotely control microsurgeries from both outside as well as inside the body.

When did it become Popular?
1966 sci-fi movie Fantastic Voyage (whose remake is scheduled for release next year) by Richard Fleischer. In this story, a submarine is shrunk to a ‘micrometer’ in length and injected into a person’s body in order to repair a clot.

Today, the ‘submarine’ idea has moved on, but the concept of shrinking things and making molecular-sized precision repairs continue to be worked on.

Just last month, Ray Kurzweil, inventor and scientist predicted that by 2026, research in nanotechnology will enable the use of blood cell-sized nanobots that can keep us forever young.

These nanobots will swarm through the body, repairing bones, muscles, arteries and brain cells. Whatever the future holds, the chances are it will be small, really small.

Chip Facts
The Intel 4004 microprocessor circuit line width was 10 microns or 10,000 nanometers. Today Intel’s microprocessors have circuit line widths of 0.065 microns or 65 nanometers. A nanometer is one billionth of a meter. By comparison, a human hair is approximately 100 microns or 100,000 nanometers.

Future Technology
Intel is researching transistors and nanotechnology for future microprocessor applications including non-silicon materials called “III-V compound semiconductors,” the III-V standing for their position on the periodic table. III-V materials in the transistor channel may allow the current to flow more easily as they have no impurities leading to high speed transistors and a dramatic reduction of voltage.
