Magnificient Adam Gilchrist
Delhi daredevils does not seem to move ahead of the semi-final after doing everything right in the league stages. It’s been two IPL on the stretch where they have been found wanting in the matches that matter most. They were far ahead of other teams considering the points table at the end of the league matches.
It was Adam Gilchrist who wrote the script this time around. Winning the toss he elected to field first and bowlers backed his decision straightways striking two early blows straightaway in the very first over Courtesy Ryan Harris.
Adam Gilchrist seems to cherish these moments utmost and few says that love for the game might not be the same after retirement. He did it for Australia where he won World cup on its own, and now doing it for the Deccan Chargers. He simly justifies “Cometh the hour, cometh the man”. He will easily fit into any of the squads for World-XI be it Test matches, one days , Twenty20.
Adam Gilchrist won the match in the few overs itself where he bludgeoned the Delhi Daredevils all around the ground. Starting off in the magnificient fashion by carting Derek Nannes for 5 boudaries in the very first over. Delhi tried there every move to send Adam back to the pavilion, but by the time Amit Mishra got him it was too late. And one could easily when Gilchrist is in this mood you just cannot set any field for him, and there’s no shame losing that way. He cracked 85 off just 35 balls cracking 10 fours and 5 sixes and merely 5 dot balls. This was easily the fastest and ruthless innings  in the IPL and meanwhile registering fastest fixty on the IPL.
For the supportes they would love Gilchrist to carry on in this fashion, its been fairy tale for the Deccan Chargers in the two seasons of the IPL, last time around they are at the bottom of the table and this time will be playing Finals in few days with same set of players. But one could see the difference of energy and spirits between the two version and also justifying the talent this team possesses.
Now, is the time for other finalist from the winner of (Chennai Superkings – Royal Challengers Bangalore), and they would love to see his back as early as possible.
And, for me I would simply say “Go Gilly Go”…
For Delhi they would have to look back and anlalyse on the two DLF IPL semi-final results from them.
