After Farhan Akhtar tried his hands by doing a remake of Big B’s DON where Shahrukh Khan essayed the role of Big B, now it’s the turn of Karan Johar to replicate the act. Karan Johar has bought the rights for movie Agneepath and will be doing a remake for the movie. And guess what, this time he has opted for Hrithik Roshan to play the role Vijay Dinanath Chauhan (Big B in original Agneepath) instead of his favorite mate SRK.

I am a die-hard fan of Agneepath and Amitabh Bachchan and the performance given by Big B for the role of Vijay Dinanath Chauhan was just awesome, his facial expressions, dialogue delivery, the way he sits, moves. In other words it was a flawless performance, not only this other characters also played their roles to perfection – be it Mithun Chakraborty as Nariyal Paaniwaala-Krishna Iyer M.A, Danny Dengzongpa as Kancha Cheena, Neelam as Big B’s sister, Rohini Hattangadi as Big B’s Mother, Alok Nath as Big B’s father and masterji and so on.

The poem Agneepath(“Fire path”) was originally written by Harivansh Rai Bachchan, the real life father of Amitabh Bachchan. This poem was used as theme for the movie, Amitabh narrating the poem throughout the movie.

Here are the actual lines.

Vriksh ho bhale khade, ho ghane ho bade, Ek pat chhav ki mang mat, mang mat, mang mat Agneepath Agneepath Agneepath.

Tu na thakega kabhi, tu na thamega kabhi, tu na mudega kabhi, Kar shapath, kar shapath, kar shapath, Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath.

Ye mahaan drishya hai, chal raha manushya hai, Ashru swed raqt se lathpath, lathpath, lathpath, Agneepath, Agneepath, Agneepath.

The movie won many awards:

National Film Award for Best Actor – Amitabh Bachchan

Filmfare Best supporting Actor Award – Mithun Chakraborty

Filmfare Best supporting Actress Award – Rohini Hattangadi

Let’s wait and watch how Hrithik tries to fit into those shoes, for other characters the details are not yet out.
