How To Preserve Your Cigars

December 25th, 2010  |  Published in TIPS

1 Seal Well: Humidors are ideal to store cigars, but if you do not have one, make sure that you keep them in a sealed plastic bag. Excess air or moisture can spoil your cigar.

2 Save from Sun: Avoid placing your cigars in direct sunlight. If the temperature and humidity gets too high, cigars can develop a potentially damaging fungus or mold. Ideal conditions are 70deg F(21deg C) and 70% humidity.

3 Do Not Freeze: Do not keep your cigars in the refrigerator as it will suck out the moisture content of your sticks.

4 Position wise: Place your cigars in a horizontal fashion. This ensures minimum air damage

5 Package Well: Remove the tubes before placing the cigars in the humidor. The tubes are ideal for protecting cigars when you travel, be it in your pocket, briefcase or luggage.
