  • She was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1986, but her family reportedly moved to Bangalore when she was 11 months old.
  • She attended Sophia High School in Bangalore, and completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College, Bangalore.
  • She played state level badminton till the 10th standard, but she never considered taking it up as a career because she wasn’t interested in being a professional player. She took up modeling as a hobby, but later realized that she wanted to do it professionally.
  • At the age of 17 years she appeared on the ramp for the first time.
  • In the year 2005, Kingfisher named Deepika Padukone Model of the Year.
  • She was chosen as one of the models for the Kingfisher Swimsuit Calendar for 2006 and won two trophies at the Idea Zee Fashion Awards: ‘Female Model of the Year’ (Commercial Assignments) and ‘ Fresh Face of the Year’ later that year.
  • Deepika Padukone entered film industry with a Kannada file ‘Aishwarya’ in 2006 starring opposite Kannada hero, Upendra.
  • Deepika won the Filmfare ‘Best Female Debut’ Award and was also nominated in the ‘Best Actress’ category.
  • The stunning actress has given hit films like ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Love Aaj Kal’, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’, and ‘Housefull’.
