How To Take Care For Woolen Carpets

Vacuum Well: Flip the carpet upside down and vacuum the back of the carpet, once a month. Use a beater brush or rotating brush vacuum on the back of the woolen carpet or on both sides if it’s a synthetic rug.

Fringe Care: Don’t use vacuum on fringes and tassels of a carpet. When you run the vacuum over the fringes they get sucked into the beater bar. They do not need vacuuming. Fluffing them with hands works best as anything else can cause damage to them.

No shampoos or sprays: Carpet shampoos are only made for synthetic wall to wall carpeting and not wool area carpets. Always check the label before using any spot cleaners or rug shampoos. Also, check your rug with a damp white cotton towel to make sure that there is no color bleed.

Immediate cleaning: Make sure that you clean up spills or stains as soon as they occur. Blot or scrape the spillage depending on the type of spill. Blot using a clean white 100% cotton dry towel and pressing down very hard from the outside towards the middle. Never rub the stain in a circle as this can cause permanent damage.

For pet colors: To neutralize pet colors, use the mixture of one part white vinegar with three parts of water. Blot this mixture with a white towel.
