If you are really deciding to color your hair, then there are few things you need to take care and color them right way so as your hairs can be made to look both stylish and natural. Here are few tips how best you can color your hairs or dye your hairs so that it looks best for you.

To dye or highlight: If you have a strong hair base tone then it’s best for you not to go in for highlights. However, if you have a dull base color, go for highlights. But always get them done professionally.

Type of highlights to choose: There are basically four types of hair highlights. Basic foil highlights, baliage or hair painting, chunking or piecing and low-lighting. This is why you need to consult a stylist before you go in for any.

Maintain it: Post the highlights/color, use a color enhancing shampoo and conditioner at least once a week. They work because they deposit a minimum amount of color in the hair.

Tackle root growth: Post the first session expect your hair roots to start to show in about 6-7 weeks. This is when you need to go for a slight touch-up. You could even do it on your own, but only if you’ve found the exact same color.

Gray wars: Strands of gray hair can be resistant to color because of the coarse texture they have. In case you’ve got just about or less than 15 percent gray, then it’s best to opt for a semi-permanent color that’s a shade lighter than what your natural hair color is.
