  1. Wash and Oil: Wash your hair twice a week and follow the conditioning routine too. This helps hair to be in the prime of health. Apply oil and use steamed towel once a week. Avoid coconut oil as it freezes in winter. The closing of scalp pores can cause many ailments pertaining to hair.
  2. Hair potion: Mix one tea spoon of coconut oil and one tea spoon of lemon juice with “fullers earth” and apply this paste on your hair for one hour. It will give relief from dandruff and other hair ailments that result in dry, brittle hair with split ends.
  3. Not so hot: Don’t rinse your hair with hot water. Use normal tap water instead. It gives a nice healthy bounce, while taking care that the hair is not excessively dry.
  4. Be winter-wise: Conditioning of hair is more important in winter than in summer. During winter, there is more moisture in hair and conditioning helps in retain the moisture as well as increase the shining of hair. Henna can be used for conditioning, but mix one tea spoon of oil to it invariably or else it can lead to split ends.
  5. Mane tonic: Mix a few drops of ginger juice to olive oil and apply it to the roots of your hair for one hour. Then shampoo your hair. This strengthens the hair roots and keeps dandruff and itchy scalp conditions at bay. Don’t comb or brush your hair time and again, because by doing so, the oil glands get activated and extra oil releases from them, resulting into split ends.
