Keep it balmy: If you’re keeping your camera away for a long time, make sure you store it in a place where the temperature doesn’t fluctuate much. Extreme heat can damage the camera case over time, while extreme cold can damage the camera’s LCD.

Keep it dry: Storing the camera in a humid place can cause liquid build up inside the lens. So avoid storing it in any damp places. Internal electronics of the camera can also be damaged by humid conditions.

Avoid sunlight: Don’t let your camera be hit by direct sunlight. The heat generated by the sun can damage the camera’s case over time.

Dismantle it: Always make it a point to take out the batteries and memory card when storing the camera for long. Keep the battery in the battery cover, you can also place the battery in charger and keep them together for storage. Keep memory card in the safety pack.

Keep other electronics away: When storing the camera, keep it away from other electronic gadgets as they generate a magnetic field which can damage the camera’s LCD screen.

Camera Package: Always keep your camera in camera cover and place it in a place which is smooth. Take proper care while putting and taking out; as lens forms critical part of camera, and very hard to repair once alignment gets disturbed.
